Dr Richard Churches is Lead Adviser for Education Reform and Evidence-Based Practice at Education Development Trust. As a government advisor he has led many major large-scale government policy initiatives in England and across the world. He is the author of ‘Teacher-Led Research’ and ‘Neuroscience for Teachers’ (with Eleanor Dommett and Ian Devonshire). Richard currently leads two programmes for the Department for Education in England: Future Teaching Scholars (a six year new route into teaching for outstanding maths and physics students) and a programme of teacher-led randomised controlled trials across 64 schools exploring the benefits and effects of reducing teacher workload.
